Woodland Waters once more proved to be an idyllic site for a Gobur rally, marred only by the droppings from the huge flock of geese that have taken up residence. Many of us did, however, have fun honing our herding skills by driving them back to the lake. The weather was kind, remaining bright and dry for the whole rally and there were many gatherings around the marquee in the sunshine.
On Saturday evening we enjoyed a closely fought boules competition that resulted in a win for Lorna and Pat Veitch over their main rivals Maureen and Ron Adams. An excellent Ploughmans supper was provided and Sylvia’s famous fresh fruit salad rounded up the meal, Margaret’s punch was also available throughout the evening.
The very good restaurant on site that was used by many of us throughout the rally was the venue for our rally meal on Monday evening, normally closed, the chef opened just for us and put on a carvery that was enjoyed by all.
The rally was all that we have come to expect from the team of Sylvia and Keith with their helpers Jackie and Dave. Many thanks and well done.
