12V Electronic Ignition and lights for most BSA Bantam road bikes

This system updates the original electrical system on Bantams from the early Wipac system to the later alternator equipped later versions.  The ignition is of the self- generating CDI type and is totally independent of the alternator output. The compact CDI coil can mounted in any discreet position in a tool- box or beneath the fuel tank or saddle. Connection to the engine is by only two connections. The system features an in-built advance and curve that gives easier starting and better engine performance at the lower engine rev range with out compromising the full performance of the engine.  The alternator AC output is by two wires that can be connected to a full wave rectifier or combined regulator/rectifier dependent upon your lighting requirements. The preferred method of fitting is to locate the stator directly onto the crankcase; this ensures concentricity with the main shaft. On engines fitted with the Type 55 generator I believe it is desirable to replace the original spindly main shaft with the later and much more rigid version. This also dispenses with wear prone end bush and the need to keep up with the lubrication. The conversion can be reversed and the stator fitted to the Wipac stator plate but they seldom are found to give the desired fit in the case to maintain a reliable air gap.  All the required machining ii done for you and the system is returned fully set up with comprehensive instructions and an extractor and flywheel locking tool to allow you safely fit and remove your system.
