VILLIERS 9E/32A IGNITION WITH 12 v DC LIGHTING
This is a popular conversion for the 9E/32A Class of Villiers engine. It utilises the existing flywheel assembly which is modified to accept a new flywheel within the original. This retains the rotating mass of the original flywheel but the condition of old magnets no longer has any effect on spark intensity or the output of the generator. The armature plate is modified to accept a new backplate with the CDI charging coil and the generator coils. The ignition has an inbuilt advance curve which gives easier starting and improves running at lower engine speeds. The generator is capable of generating 65 Watts at 12 volts when used in conjunction with the rectifier/regulator unit. The output from this can be connected into your machines electrical circuit. Obviously, existing 6 volt components will need to be changed to work with the higher output of the system.
