ELECTRONIC IGNITION CONVERSION FOR AMC TWO STROKES
This is one of the latest conversions to the range of quality-engineered systems for British two stroke motorcycles. It utilises the same well proven components as fitted to the many BSA and Villiers engines that I have converted in the past six years. The new flywheel and stator occupy the same location as the original alternator and the outer alloy cover can still be fitted to preserve the authentic look. The CDI ignition incorporates an advance curve to improve bottom end performance and give a more reliable tick over. The alternator delivers a healthy 65 watts of power at 12 volts to give lighting comparable to modern lightweight motorcycles. This conversion involves some machining to the right hand side crankcase but nothing that would prevent the case being returned to use with an original alternator in the unlikely event that it should be required.
If you are rebuilding one of these engines and are wanting modern reliability from your old AMC engine then now is the time to consider this conversion.
