Why..?, firstly because the thread length on the battery post is limited and runs out after a number of lugs are fitted, so the spring washer gets left off and the vibration of the boat loosens the nut, and wires fall off. Secondly, as terminals are added they run out of space and start to scrunch up together until one cracks and falls off. There are high current posts and terminal bars available for multiple connections away from the batteries.
