'OK, so what!', you say..'this is a high-efficency switchmode
charger- it doesn't get hot.'
..The charger is a 24V 25A unit- at full power it produces 29V at 25A,
thats 725 Watts. Assuming it's 75% efficent (reasonable) then it gives
out 181 watts of heat.
Consider that the customer will almost definately have the cupboard door
shut, the space filled with various bits and pieces, some of it probably
clothing, and the fact that the charger is mounted on a 1/4 inch ply board.
The best case scenario is that the thermal switch in the charger will
cut in and the thing will cycle on and off as it heats up and cools down.
Charging will not be efficent, but the boat probably won't go on fire.
