Most boats nowadays have a 240V ac installation, and the cable of choice is...2.5 Twin and Earth. Why?..it's the cheapest! Although it's not acceptable for general marine use due to lack of flexibility, if the cable is fixed down and junction boxes are used it probably won't give trouble- unlike above!
