Making Bookings, Arrivals and Departures
The easiest way of making a booking is to email either of the following addresses:
If you are already in The Gambia, you should telephone Ebrima Jattah on 773 1042.
On arrival at the airport you will be met by Ebrima Jattah. At this point you should change money – the rate is likely to be as good as you’ll find anywhere else. We strongly advise that you hire a car for the duration of your stay, as it will make practical things like shopping much easier, and will enable you to visit the many beautiful and interesting places that can be seen in the area. Car hire can be arranged through us, or you can make your own arrangements. Let us know at the time of booking your visit. .
En route to Gunjur we recommend a visit to a supermarket, so you can stock up with everything you will need to be comfortable, from food, coffee, tea, loo paper and washing up liquid to wine and spirits – which cannot be obtained locally.
At the end of your week’s stay, it is usual to tip the Tilo House staff, about D500 each for Ebrima and Mariamma, and D200 for the night watchman. If you are staying for two or more weeks, it’s up to you to decide what is appropriate. Ebrima will accompany you back to the airport, where the car can be handed back and any outstanding payment made. We would appreciate it if you would give Ebrima his fare, for public transport, back to the house.
