Welcome to my home page, which I hope does not seem too self-indulgent.
I was born on 25 October 1973 at Harrow, North London. I was brought up in London and Hampshire, and was schooled mainly at St. Mary's College, Southampton. In 1992 I began an honours program in Geophysical Sciences at Leeds University, and graduated with an upper second class degree in 1995.
Subsequently, after some time for consideration, I decided to train as an accountant, and worked in Leeds, the majority of the time for PricewaterhouseCoopers, obtaining the ACCA qualification in December 1999. I moved to Rawlinson and Hunter in London in May 2000 to further my specialism in Corporate Tax, looking after a varied portfolio of clients including venture capitalists and international entrepreneurial businesses, derived mainly from the firm's niche private client market.
Outside work, my main interest is rugby league. After a very short playing career (three games, one try) I have concentrated on supporting the Leeds Rhinos club and attempting to promote the game among my friends and colleagues in London, where the tedious spectacle which is rugby union has a tight hold.
I also enjoy long distance walking, completing the Coast to Coast walk in July 1999 and a section of the South West Coast path in 2001. I have also completed the 13 mile Great North Run in 1999 and 2001, and the British Indoor Rowing Championships in November 2001.
This way to my CV.
