Peter Zutrauen (posting of 4/4/03) has sent on the following idea for connection of a MAC servo for aileron trim.
"While browsing the RAH newsgroup, I saw an interesting posting of a roll-trim concept being used on canard. Designed by Mr. Wright and Mr. Hanka, it utilizes a composite spring in the shape of a circlip, with one end attached to the aileron drive and the other to a servo. As with the bungee idea, there is no need to modify the aileron, but as with the embedded aileron servo, it is still infinitely adjustable with a switch.
I found the idea a good compromise, and a keeper. I wonder if there is room in the spar tunnel to hide the servo and spring instead of crowding the footwell?
The original post to RAH claimed no intellectual rights, so posting shouldn't be a problem (the design is quite basic in any case)."
