Bed and Breakfast in Litton, Derbyshire, Peak DistrictHall Farm House is situated in the picturesque village of Litton in the heart of the Peak District National Park (see map opposite). Litton is an ideal centre for a holiday with a host of interesting places and activities right on our doorstep. The stately homes of Chatsworth, Haddon Hall and Hardwick Hall are just 20-30 minutes away by car. You may also like to visit the famous caves at Castleton where 'Blue John' is mined - a semi precious stone which has been fashioned into ornaments and jewellery since Roman times. Within a few miles are the towns of Bakewell - famous for its puddings - and Buxton, renowned for its Edwardian Opera House and mineral waters. Also nearby is the 17th Century village of Eyam where you can discover the fascinating story of how it became known as the "Plague Village". For the more actively inclined, there are an abundance of walks ranging from easy to rather strenuous. We can provide you with information on these as well as details of cycle hire, pony trekking and fishing - all of which are fairly close at hand. A619 following signs for Chatsworth / Baslow / Manchester. In Baslow
follow the A619 to Calver crossroads. Straight on on the A623 for
approximately 3 miles through Stoney Middleton and Houseley. From the A6 coming from Buxton turn left along the B6049, sign[posted for Millers Dale and Tideswell. Drive through Millers Dale past Tideswell Picnic area and turn right at Litton signpost. Drive through village - Red Lion is on your left and at the next right hand turn signposted 'Cressbrook and Monsal Head' turn right past Hall Farm House and take the 2nd right hand turn into a large yard at rear of property. Nearest station - Grindleford or Hope. This is on the Sheffield to Manchester line. Nearest airport - Manchester Buses - There are several bus routes through the village to Buxton, Bakewell, Manchester and Sheffield |
