The planner will be given a years trial. Please try to make it work. Walks will be allocated on a first come first served basis, but you can provisionally book into subsequent periods.

Walk Leader's Guide

• Do read the pages linked on the left.
• Do walk your route well ahead and again shortly before the day.
• Do report problems to the local authority and confirm that access is available.
  • You may get a better response if you also report it to the Ramblers(see left)
• Do ensure that you are on Rights of Way, Open Access Land or you have obtained landowner permission to use the path.
• Do assess your route for safety and walker ability and make reasonable provision.
• Don't be a blind optimist, consider
  • can you shorten or divert the walk if required?
  • what shelter is available for breaks if the weather is bad?

How to keep the Walk Organiser happy

• The organiser will try to share out walk slots to keep everyone happy and to alternate the shorter and longer walks. Be as flexible as possible as to date. Potential leaders who have been unsuccessful in the current allocation will be given priority in the next.
• Keep an eye on the walk planner(right), if spaces remain and you wish to lead another walk give the organiser a call or email.
• N.B. Please give him the final details well ahead of the cutoff date(above right). He needs the date, start time, walk name, distance, map, Tel.Number, meeting point and grid reference and if required details of car parking/directions. If you can give him any other details they will be put on the web site.
