There is a bit of uncertainty about the paternity of some of Daniel and Mary Ann Quinn's children but this probably only affects those born after 1841. Some may have been fathered by Jaean/Jacob Draelyski/Drobycki/Drobychi (born c. 1805). Jacob was a refugee from Poland and in the 1841 census he was in the Polish Refugee Hospital in Portsmouth. At the time of the 1851 census he had moved in with Mary Ann Quinn as a lodger. At the time of the 1871 census Jacob is a shoemaker with a place of birth given as Poland. Maybe he just took the Quinn name! There appears to be no trace of Daniel Quinn on any records other than his own marriage certificate and his putative childrens' baptism or birth certificates.
This information was supplied by Barrie King, a descendant (a great grandson) of Hannah Quinn. Barrie's mother always told her family that they had Polish blood!
