Rob Dickinson International Working Steam Pages
Although Rob has stopped covering China, he still covers the rest of the world and stationary steam engines. Rob and his wife Yuehong are now producing steam DVDs of China and Indonesia focussing on narrow gauge steam railways and stationary steam engines. The link above is to the information pages. Details of the DVDs are at http://www.internationalsteam.co.uk/dvd/isvideos.htm

Bernd Seiler's Farrail Website
Bernd travels the world for steam and organises group tours to see working and preserved steam in action. His website offers trip reports and maps along with details of his upcoming tours.

Davos Worldwide Trains
Dave Phillips who contributed several interesting reports to very obscure places on my website now has his own page of photos of railway operations in Asia including Sri Lanka and Indonesia

Brian Rumary's Industrial Railway Website
Brian has trip reports especially of Germany and Austria (but also including China and Indonesia) as well as a list of working Fireless Steam Locos in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. However, much of the information is several years old and may not describe the current situation.

Mike Ma, China Steam Guide
I now consider Mike a friend rather than just another guide. There's no-one better (imho) for individual or small groups and Mike is well trained in large groups as well.

QJ Country - SY Country - Steam in China
This was THE site for information on steam in China. It still exists but is no longer being updated. A new version SY Country promises to keep the information going although this appears to be limited to occasional news items and a good range of trip reports. The Steam Lines section does not seem to have been updated since the handover. You should also join the Yahoo group Steam_in_China.

The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway Society
For up-to-date news, join the Yahoo group DHR Chat The Australian version the Darjeeling Himalayan Supporters Association appears to be defunct.

Industrial Narrow Gauge Railways
This is Steve Thomason's website for information about narrow gauge, European industrial lines as well as details of his DVD and Video offerings. Well worth a look. Not much steam but lots of obscure narrow gauge details.

Trains of Turkey
I spent several years working in Turkey and chasing the last steam workings in the late 1980s and early 1990s. This website is a good resource for those interested in finding out more about the TCDD.

Railography Home Page
The man once famous for his Crapshots maps and photos has an extensive website of steam and modern traction worldwide including useful trip reports.
