Thymus cilicicus

cilicicus

Boissier & Balansa (1859).

Dwarf shrub with prostrate stems.  Narrow hairy unscented leaves.  Large clusters of pale magenta-pink flowers.

Native of Turkey.  Marginally hardy.  Dislikes winter wet.  Grow in a pot and overwinter in frost-free greenhouse.

Many nurseries sell Thymus caespititius under this name and describe it as smelling of pine resin or turpentine.
