A full programme is provided every Sunday for
all children from 0 - 13 years. Visitors are always welcome.
The children are grouped in their familiar
school groups as much as possible:
Crèche
for
babies and tiny tots.
First
Class for
Nursery and Reception (3 - 4
year olds)
J.A.M.
(Jesus and Me) for
those at First School (5 -
9 year olds)
B.C’s
(Bible Class) for
those at Middle School (9 -
13 year olds)
All the children, join with the adults for the
first half of the meeting, before leaving to gather for a short time of praise
and worship. This is an important time, when the children have an opportunity to
share individual needs and pray together.
Those of us involved in working with the
children have a vision to see God at work amongst them. Our aim is to teach
spiritual truths and the principles of living God’s way, at a level they can
understand, and to help them develop a personal relationship with Jesus.
We currently use the S.A.L.T (Sharing and
Learning Together) materials produced by Scripture Union for the children in
First Class & J.A.M. This provides a Bible-based approach and covers the
main Bible characters and events over a four year period. Each child receives a
take-home leaflet relating to the story for that week.
B.C.’s The Bible
Class has a separate identity and a different approach, with more class
discussion and group Bible Study.
G.Y.M.
(God, You & Me) for
those at Upper School (13-18 year
olds)
The young people have their own group, which
meets after the worship on the first and third Sunday of each month. On other
Sundays they join in the main service.
