Design Packs and Booklets
Design Packs
Saint Brides Hall
This is a collation of all the articles written by Paul Wiese that
appeared in Steam Chest. The associated drawings (2 sheets)
are available from the Plans Service.
Toby
Steve Eaton built a "freelance" narrow gauge locomotive that proved such
a success that he was persuaded to describe how to build one in Steam Chest.
This Design Pack includes all the articles and drawings produced to date, all
on A4 sized paper. A3 sized drawings are available on request. Castings are
available from the Association and Reeves (2000).
8ft Stirling Single
Peter Gardner has designed, built one and run it regularly at Association
rallies. The design proved a "hit" with members and he was eventually
persuaded to describe his design in Steam Chest. This Design Pack
includes all four construction articles on A4 sized paper with colour photos,
and two drawings on A3 paper. The pack also includes a reproduction of the
LBSC design notes that appeared in English Mechanics in 1937. A works
drawing reproduced at almost exactly scale size is also available. Castings
are available from the Association.
Ugly Duckling
In 1936 LBSC described briefly his answer to the Diesel engined locomotive.
His design, as ever, included interesting features. The articles that
appeared in The Model Engineer are reproduced here, along with a number
of A3 sized drawings recently created using CAD. Castings are available
from the Association.
