From the very beginning, the Association sent a duplicated newsletter to all its members. In 1982, its form changed to that of an A5 sized folded booklet, which became The Steam Chest in 1984. In addition to the Steam Chest, newsletters were sent out occasionally.
In August 1996, the first Coupling Rod newsletter was produced, and has continued to be sent out every other month. Its content varies, but usually contains reports of recently held rallies, meetings or exhibitions. Updates to the castings, drawings, reprints and booklets services are also featured.
Another useful inclusion is the Sales and Wants page.
Since 2008, some issues are now produced in full colour. This really made a big difference, as it can do justice to the many digital colour photos taken at our rallies are sent to the Editor.
