Monday 16th November to Sunday 22nd November

Dear Friends

Harrow Inter Faith Council in Partnership with Harrow Council are delighted to inform you that England will be holding its first ever National Inter Faith week in November 2009.

It aims to strengthen good Inter Faith relations at all levels. To promote dialogue and increase awareness of the different and distinct faith communities in the UK, in particular celebrating and building on the contribution which their members make to their neighbourhoods and to wider society.

Faith groups throughout the country are holding a variety of activities from guided tours to exchange visits, Inter Faith talks and debates on topics such as ‘Religion and Law in a Modern Society’ the environment, share a prayer etc.

Harrow Inter Faith Council in partnership with Harrow Council - invite all faiths to open their doors to the wider public during this week. We are asking all faith centers in Harrow to commit to the spirit and effort of this week. We look forward to hearing from you about any activities you may have planned. If however, you are unable to open your doors to the wider public please will you mention Harrow Inter Faith Council at your services and inform your congregation that they are welcome to attend other places of worship during this week.

We have organized a signature event on Saturday 21st November from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. to be hosted at the Civic Centre Council Chamber, Harrow, PO Box 57, Station Road, Harrow, HA1 2XF where a panel of speakers will talk on ‘Religion and Law in a Modern Society’ and answer a series of questions concerning generic facts/fictions about their beliefs.
