1.         APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE

There were no apologies for absence.

 

2.         MINUTES OF LAST MEETING

 

Minutes of a meeting of the Amenities and Building Development Committee held on Wednesday 12 November 2008 were adopted by the Council at their meeting on 26 November 2008.
           

3.         MATTERS ARISING

 

a) Purchase of Land at Little Heath

 

Mr Dixon on behalf of the Potters Bar Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses had received another lower estimate for the relocation of the tyre swing at Little Heath and as requested the North Mymms Parish Council confirmed that they were in agreement with this.

b)   St Mary’s School Drainage Easement

 

Councillor Everard said he and Councillor Mrs Boulton would arrange a date to survey the new nursery building when the weather improved.

 

c)  Metal Storage Box for Football Nets

 

Councillor Pieri had requested a copy of the estimate for the above and confirmed that £1,000 from the Community Chest would be forthcoming in due course.

 

            d)  Burns Pavilion

 

The Clerk had received a second quotation for replacing the boiler but it had additional work incorporated in the cost.  She had requested that the boiler and other work be separated and was awaiting an amended quotation.

e)  Combined Energy Rates

This matter was still ongoing.

 

4.         ANY OTHER BUSINESS

 

            a)  Barnbeth

 

Councillor Everard said he and the Clerk would be making an appointment to meet the owner of Barnbeth in an effort to alleviate his perceived boundary problems.

 

b) Phase II Gobions Recreation Ground

 

Councillor Mrs Boulton said she had received a phone call from Councillor Mrs Irene Dean to confirm that a donation of £5,000 towards the updating of Gobions Recreation Ground would be forthcoming when the paperwork had been submitted.
