1.       APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE

Apologies for absence were received from the Clerk, Mrs J Schettino.

 

2.       MINUTES OF LAST MEETING

 

Minutes of a meeting of the Amenities and Building Development Committee held on Wednesday 11 February 2009 were adopted by the Council at its meeting on 25 February 2009.
         

3.       MATTERS ARISING

 

a) Land at Little Heath

 

Councillor Everard said that the pavement cross-over work is due to start on Friday 13th March, and the relocation of the tyre swing on Monday 16th March.

b)  St Mary’s School Drainage Easement

 

Councillor Everard and Councillor Mrs Boulton are to arrange a date to survey the new nursery building.

 

c)  Metal Storage Box for Football Nets

 

The submitted planning application for this storage box had been returned by Welwyn Hatfield Council for various reasons.  Councillor Everard will amend the application and resubmit it.

 

          d)  Burns Pavilion

 

A second estimate for replacing the boiler had been received which was based on replacing one boiler with two, one for central heating and one for hot water.  It was agreed to await the return of the Clerk before examining the implications of this system design.

e)  Combined Energy Rates

This matter was raised at the Welwyn Hatfield Association of Local Councils meeting on 23rd February 2009, where it was agreed to raise this at the next Parish, Town and Borough meeting.

 

            f)  Barnbeth

 

Councillor Everard said he and the groundsmen would visit the site on the following morning.

 

b) Phase II Gobions Recreation Ground

 

Councillor Mrs Boulton said Councillor S Boulton had signed the application for the grant of £5,000 towards the updating of Gobions Recreation Ground..
