Minutes
of a meeting of the Amenities and Building Development Committee held on

MATTERS ARISING
a) Way Leave, St Mary’s
Nursery
It was agreed that the
Clerk would contact the Head Teacher at St Mary’s School to check on the
progress of this draft annual licence.
b) Extended Office
Accommodation
Councillor Everard said
that he would progress this matter with the architect.
c) Access Road to Gobions Open
Space
It was agreed that the
Clerk would contact one of the Gobions Trustees regarding the state of the
access road and any proposed remedial works.
d) Play
Equipment
The Clerk said that she had
been notified that a grant of £4,000 from the County Council’s Rural Councillor
for

ANY OTHER BUSINESS
a) Allotment Tenants
Letter
A letter from a concerned
allotment tenant regarding vandalism and security was
discussed.

It was agreed to write to
the owners of Barnbeth asking them to reinstate the fence between them and the
allotments as a matter of urgency
·
It was agreed to recommend
to council that repairs to the gate posts at a cost of £450 should be carried
out
·
Although the council does
have responsibility for the allotments, third party calls to the police are not
acceptable and any vandalism must be reported to the police by the tenant.
b) Bushwood Close/Merritt Walk
Councillor Storey agreed to
try and progress this matter on behalf of the Parish
Council.
c) Gobions Recreation
Ground
It was reported that the
two of the rockers in the above recreation ground seemed to be unsafe and needed
refurbishing.
d) Best Kept
Garden
It was agreed to try and
introduce a
e) North Mymms Bowls
Club
The Clerk reported that the
NM Bowls Club would like a commercial dishwasher in the Burns Pavilion next year
at a possible cost of £1,000 plus, partly funded by the Parish Council. The Amenities and Building Development
Committee referred this request to the Council’s budget meeting in November for
consideration.
