Minutes of a MEETING of the FINANCE COMMITTEE held in the Council Office, Annexe to No 1 Bungalow, Bushwood Close, Welham Green on Wednesday, 27 June 2007.

1.         APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE

 

Apologies for absence were received from Councillor K Pieri.

 

 

2.         MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING

 

it was agreed that the Minutes of the Meeting of the Finance Committee held on Wednesday, 30 May 2007 were a true record of the proceedings and signed by the Chairman.

 

 3.       MATTERS ARISING

 

a)  Hearing Loop

 

A quotation had been received from the Hertfordshire Hearing Advisory Service for £270 and as agreed at a previous meeting of the Council on

30 May 2007 (minute No. 13 a) refers), the Clerk had written and accepted the quotation and was waiting for an installation date.

4.         ACCOUNTS FOR PAYMENT

 

A Schedule of Accounts for Payment inclusive of Imprest Expenditure of £280.94 was presented.   After careful consideration of each item, it was agreed that the total amount of ££11,518.13 be recommended to Council for approval and payment in full.

 

5.         STATEMENT OF BALANCES

 

A Statement of Balances dated 21 June 2007 was considered from which it was noted that income amounting to £127.21 had been received. 

6.         TRANSFER OF MONIES

 

Approval was given to the Clerk’s action in arranging the transfer of £16,000 from the Council’s Capital Reserve Account to Current Account with effect from 21 June 2007.

7.         ANY OTHER BUSINESS

 

a)         Kompan Spare Parts Quotation

 

A quotation had been received for spare parts for the Crazy Hen, Crazy Horse and Crazy Scrambler in the Gobions Recreation Ground.  It was agreed that the total cost of £287.78 would be recommended to full Council for approval.

 

b)         Scribe Report

 

It was noted that a Scribe report showing the Parish Councils bank reconciliation as at 30 April 2007 had been received from the Internal Auditor.

 

c)                  Tractor Shed Door

 

The Finance Committee discussed proposed small changes in the design of the door for the tractor shed but the estimated costs remained the same at approximately £4,200 plus VAT.  Councillor Everard said he had some concerns about this design and would liaise with Baddeley Rose.


8.         DATE OF NEXT MEETING

 

Already arranged for Wednesday 25 July 2007 commencing at 7.15 pm in the Council Office, Annexe to No 1 Bungalow, Bushwood Close, Welham Green.
