Planning Committee

Terms of reference

1. To examine all planning applications applicable to North Mymms parish and, when necessary, to make comments or objections to the borough council within the prescribed consultation timetable.

2. When considered necessary, to speak at a meeting of the Borough Planning Control Committee when this council has objected to an application.

3. To examine all planning appeal documents applicable to North Mymms parish and to make comments or objections within the prescribed consultation timetable.

4. When considered necessary, to speak at any planning appeal hearing or inquiry when this council has objected to the original planning application.

5. To study all planning consultation documents issued by the Government, County Council, Borough Council and any other body which could affect this parish, and to make comments when considered necessary.

6. To consider any planning breaches or other planning issues of which Welwyn Hatfield Council might not be aware.

7. To report at the council’s Annual Public Meeting on the activities of this committee.

8. Membership of the committee will exclude any councillor with a conflict of interest, such as being a member of a planning committee of the borough or county council.
