A Happy New Year to all our readers. Those who came to the New Years Eve Party at Withleigh had a good time, and some of us have been banging kettles, pouring mulled cider around apple trees (and drinking it) and singing in the orchards at various village Wassails. There are many events to look forward to this year: put them in your diaries.

Friday 9th March: Post-Xmas meal: The London Inn, Morchard Bishop, 7pm for 7.30, followed by a singaround. Choice of menu Please book directly with The London Inn on 01363 877222, giving your choices.

Friday 11th May: Jan Stewer Evening at Puddington Village Hall: 8pm.

Friday 25th – Sunday 27th May: SONG AND ALE at The London Inn, Morchard Bishop PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF VENUE: The Black Dog Inn is unavailable and Sarah and Vera at The London Inn are very pleased to host us this year. There is a field for camping and camper vans adjoining the pub. Booking forms will be sent out in February, but in the meantime you can reserve a place with Bill on 01278 450838 or Nicola on 01363 877748. After this year, the date will go back to the usual first weekend in June.

21st July: Summer Party at Westland. More details nearer the time.

26th – 28th October: Bampton After the Fair

November: we plan to have another ‘house guest’ evening at Beech Hill Community, Morchard Bishop. Date to be confirmed: suggestions for guest(s) welcome.

Previous Events

Bampton After the Fair, 28th-30th October. This was a great success as usual: the Committee work hard to organise this event and it is very gratifying to hear how much people enjoy it. The performers at the Saturday concert included our own Ross Causley and Bill Crawford with Dave Lowry. The Fair made a small profit.

‘House Party’ at Black Dog on 12th November with Jim McGeean and Grahame Knights: this was well attended and enjoyed by members, and we hope to have another concert in November 2012.
