Lightmoor Colliery - Pit Props

Photograph taken by Arthur Clifford, underground at Lightmoor Colliery, showing the preparation of Oak Timbers for roof supports. The miner sitting astride the pit prop being prepared is Ernest Edward Buck who became a Deputy at the Northern United Colliery and a member of the mines rescue team.
