Top row from left to right.

Plastic Shadows, a simple project from the sight of a bag of police figures in a high street store. After looking closely at them, I notice the detail that was place into such tiny objects. It also brought back childhood memories of more specialist and detailed toys.

Jack in the Green, in 2002 I came across this annual event in Hasting Kent. An event where chimney sweeps, morris dancers and all kinds of folk from a round the country gather to dance and make merry the releasing of the Jack from the green.

Moving London, one off events and every day life in London.

Christmas at the Pantiles, after the winter carnival in Tunbridge Wells came to an end it was replaced by this event at the Pantiles, lasting three days on the first weekend of December.

Movement in the Garden, the first ever project using the 'photoimpressionist' form of photography. Started in the early 90's and went on to 2002. The original idea was to record the street life of Covent garden and then put it into semi-verse, as if the pictures were a record of one strange day in a concrete garden.

Fair impressions, fun fairs from all around and all the glow of the rides.

The eyes of Holga, work taken with a Lomo Holga. I had adapted this camera into both a 35mm and a f124 pin hole camera by using parts from over cameras. This camera has been used on various projects, but due to the end style of photograph all work take with the Holga appears in this section. In December 2007 an official Holga pin hole was released, I now have one in my collection for future work.

Second row from left to right.

25 Colours, in 2005 while on the way home with a friend I notice the arrival of twilight. For a change I was a passenger and with my trusty Nikon FM took photographs of the car lights set against the deep blue sky. The end result was the photograph 'Wave Length', and so the project began.

Autumn Colours, with the arrival of autumn and the ever increasing colour within British trees. This project was started in 2006 at Badgebury park in Kent. It came about due to the lack of nature photographs within my collection of works. 2007 the colours came from Knole park.

Dance, or the 'many impressions of dance' are one off projects or a chance discoveries of various types of dance that I have photographed. These were not photographs attached to the more major works like the 'Regent street festival'.

Other Impressions, one off photographs, still life and small groups of photography that haven't had enough work in total to have their own project impressions. This area has also the more experimental work, including Polaroid and light painting photographs.

Creature, or 'Impressionable Creatures' is a collection of one off animal photoimpressions, like 'Autumn Colours' this section was designed to increase nature studies.

Regent Street Festival, this used to be a festival where Regent street was closed for the day and many attraction like fair ground rides and other attractions were set up. Now the event is a culture one, on this occasion dancers, shops and acts from all over India filled the usually traffic jammed street.

Sadlers Wells Brazilian Carnival, a one off event held out side of the Sadlers wells theatre. Dancers and colourfull people filled the area all around the theatre, along with market stalls selling Brazilian and South American goods.

Scandal at the Spar, held at the classic area of the Pantiles, Tunbridge wells. This was a three day event held once a year, where Georgian characters would act out a number of scandals that revealed them selves as the weekend went on.

Winter Wells, held on the last week of December this amazing event brought creatures and acts to the streets of Tunbridge wells. Original idea for the project was similar to 'Movement in the Garden', where it was set to verse. But due to the amount of acts and photographs only the best of the Tunbridge wells winter carnival was placed in this collection.

Carnival del Pueblo 2006, this was the first year that I had seen this carnival. The largest latin carnival is Europe, it starts near London Bridge and passes Elephant and castle to end at Burgess park.

Carnival del Pueblo 2007, second year I have recorded this event and its got bigger and more colourfull.

Carnival del Pueblo 2008, the third year recorded this event that on this occation started from the Elephant and castle.

Summer in the Square 2003, the first time this appeared at Trafalgar square, London. Each summer the square is filled with various ideas and cultures. This particular year giant red puppet giraffes ran around the fountains. (See the photograph 'As Tall as Nelson').

Fourth row left to right.

Summer in the Square 2004, on this year Saraswati dancers covered the base of Nelsons column with an ocean of silk covered dancers.

Summer in the Square 2005, night time acts stood out. Giant man powered ships sailed round the fountains, while the Trafalgar lions watched a Greek play.

Summer in the Square 2006, the main act that caught my camera eye was the whirling dervish, amazing colours from the flood lights enhanced the ever spinning figure.

Summer in the Square 2007, the relationship between India and the UK was explored through dance at this years event.

Chinese New Year 2003-2006, 2007, these celebrations have improved from crowed streets in China town to a street parade and stage show in Trafalgar square. This collection also has work from the second biggest UK Chinese New Year celebrations held in Chatham, Kent.

Fifth row left to right.

New Year Parade 2002, the first London new year parade I had photographed.

The Thames Carnival 2002. A colourfull event that starts at the Embankment tube station and marches onto Blackfiars bridge to the Royal Festival hall. Always held after sundown so a very colourfull evening event.

The Thames carnival 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007. More of the lights and colours of the Thames carnival held every mid-September.

Seventh line left to right.

The Thames Carnival 2008, the colours of the 2008 Thames carnival.

Reflections, a project that I had started in 2006, using a different form of film based camera and a more abstract idea of taking photographs. This new way of taking picture increased the grain on the picture and came from looking at sections of other work I had taken. The title 'Reflections' is more about what I had seen in the shadows or reflections of the world around me. The titles of each photograph come from what I could see in those shadows and colours itself. Due to the nature of the photographic process the original print could not be enlarged more than 10" x 8", so these will be some of the first hand prints done via a digital enlarger. The news section will sate the date of release as hand prints.

Static, originally started in 1992 with the photograph 'Channel Surfer' it was taken on slide film, and with my darkroom all geared to C41, this project has had only brief displays within past rebuilds of this web site. Now with scanners and a digital enlarger the project which involved taking photographs of an analog tuner TV while just out of signal. Due to the noise of the static and reflections on the screens surface, this was all done with volume off and in a dark room. The effect of not knowing what would appear next brought forward a strange mixture of images from out of the static of the universe.

Colour Stream, a project involving blowing up photographs on the enlarger then printing only an A4 section of an image. The A4 becomes the original, these are then scanned and reproduced via digital enlarger or by easyart.com.

Blanc, an almost monochrome section of prints, still taken on colour film with the high contrast of the process my film goes through the colour almost vanishes due to the amount of white, these first few were taken at the beginning of April 2008 after waiting years for a decent fall of snow.

Blackpool ( The Other Northern lights), the first non London/Southeastern project, also the first project that I spent working on for 4 days on location. Showing the lights and all that makes this beach front so famous.

Beside the Sea, an off shoot of the Blackpool project, photographs of seaside towns around the Southeast coast. The most recent project, and still in progress.
