Whilst this highly intelligent breed can adapt to many forms of work it can be extremely challenging to train. It does not carry out tasks unless it can be convinced they are important.
It will stubbornly resist attempts at persuasion and will not perform under threats of any kind.
If the Weimaraner is uncomfortable with it’s surroundings and unhappy in the home or with the family then there will be no co-operation, despite your best efforts.
Because of the highly developed intelligence of the Weimaraner if left for long periods without sufficient stimulation it will revert to finding it’s own amusement, usually with destructive and devastating effects !
The Owner /Trainer must first gain it’s confidence, earn their respect and it will work willingly. Progress can be rapid or remain stagnated, to the uninitiated this can be extremely frustrating
