Chief Constable : "It's a personal opinion, but I think we do need to think about radical ways we can expand the database. Of course it's a question for society, it's one in which the rights of the individual have to be taken into account in connection with the prevention of crime. But I think that as a society we now need to give some serious consideration about how we can use this wonderful scientific technique to investigate both current crimes and past crimes and most importantly to prevent further crimes like this in the future."
