1st XI A Amberley

Maximum points again for the 1st XI on a poor batting wicket. Excellent innings by Michael Burroughs, ended when he is embarrassingly given out LBW. Good contributions from Jim Burroughs and Nick Turner, with some big-hitting from Guy Nelson, and particularly Chris Shambrook with 2 fours and 3 sixes, enable Billingshurst to pass 200. Hostile bowling from Peter Burroughs and Ally Awcock put Amberley on the back foot, and they are all out in the eighties. Billingshurst 208-7: Michael Burroughs 72, Jim Burroughs 48, Chris Shambrook 34, Nick Turner 25. Amberley 89 all out: Ally Awcock 1-25, Peter Burroughs 4-25, Chris Shambrook 2-10, Tom Blackwell 2-15.
