A. nemorosum was recorded as "sparingly distributed throughout" and A. minus as "possibly widespread, but only critically examined in the area between Eyre and Fearns, Raasay" (Harrison, 1937a) and A. minus subsp. pubens (as A. vulgare Hill f subtomentosum Evans) on the cliffs between Screapadal and Hallaig (Harrison 1937c).

The taxonomy of Arctium has been in a state of flux for many years. Arctium minus subsp. minor has not been confirmed from Scotland. A. minus subsp. pubens has recently (2015) been confirmed from Skye and two Raasay plants are currently under consideration (October 2015).  It seem likely that Raasay has both A. nemorosum (Wood Burdock) and A. minus subsp. pubens (Lesser Burdock).
