“Rare and local near the smaller lochs just west of the Brochel to Inverarish road” (Harrison 1937a).  There are no lochs readily fitting this description, though replacing “west” with “east” gives possible sites.  The specimens in Blackburn’s herbarium are labelled “Oskaig”, which is to the west of the main road but there is no obvious suitable habitat there. Not re-found despite intensive searches by various botanists.

Oskaig saltmarsh, Inver and the far north of Raasay plus Rona.  All sites are coastal except the northern Raasay population which survives in willow carr apparently without flowering. Two sites near the (East Suisnish?) pier and at North Fearns (Harrison, 1937c) have not been re-found. This is another species that tends to be mobile unless it establishes a large population. Storms can readily destroy a small coastal population.

Plentiful on Rona (Harrison 1937a) and a colony near Arnish (Harrison 1937c).  The latter record is probably the Torran site that has been recorded regularly ever since and continues to this day, though it became more obvious (larger and flowering) after the sheep were taken off the ground in 2003. Two additional Raasay sites have been found more recently one on Fladday (again becoming obvious after the sheep were removed in 2000) and the other north of Manish Beag. It remains commoner on Rona.
