ISO 9000 series
ISO 9001:2000 (third edition) was published on 15th December 2000 and will fully replace the 1994 editions of ISO 9001, 9002 and 9003 on 15th December 2003. In this period until 15th December 2003, there is a co-existence of the availability of accredited certification/registration to the 1994 editions of ISO 9001, ISO 9002, or ISO 9003 and to ISO 9001:2000. However during the three-year transition period, users of the 1994 editions will have to upgrade to the 2000 edition in order to maintain an accredited certificate after 15th December 2003. BSI has a website explaining ISO 9001:2000 issues, here is a link to the FAQ page. The ISO website contains much useful information on the new 9000:2000 Standards. And the responsible ISO committee ISO/TC176/SC2 Homepage includes guidance for transition planning. |
