The Vision  becomes Reality ........

The Vision of "Global Standards Used Locally Worldwide" is realised with an example: the development of a new standard ISO 14310, that has been adopted without modification both as a European Standard and as an ANSI/API Standard.  Originally this was a New Work Item Proposal in Europe (CEN/TC12) and responsibility for its development was transferred (under the Vienna Agreement) to ISO (TC67) in order to ensure global participation.   The resulting ISO was adopted by API as the first edition of API 11D1.  European national bodies such as BSI have adopted EN ISO 14310 as their national standard.
