Scope of WG13 for Maintenance of ISO 13623 (ref. SC2 N368 rev.1)

1. Review comments and requests for interpretation from users that have been directed to SC2 and passed on to WG 13. Determine if request is for advice of a technical consultation or historical standard development nature and respond that such requests are beyond the scope of WG 13. Requests for interpretations of ISO 13623 requirements or criteria shall be handled in accordance with the procedure provided in ISO TC67 N435.

2. Review DIS level documents issued by TC67 SC2 to identify duplications or conflicts with ISO 13623. Recommended modifications will be identified as NWIs and submit to SC2 at least two to three months before the next scheduled SC2 meeting. Modifications may take the form of corrigendum, amendments or standard reissue.

3. WG 13 will proactively identify changes to ISO 13623 that are dictated by technology advances, consensus industry experience, advances in safety practices, subjects or requirements that should be incorporated into ISO 13623. Recommended changes will be submitted as NWIs, amendments or reissue of the standard.

4. Actively work towards acceptance of ISO 13623 as the preferred worldwide standard for pipelines.
