A new ISO 3183 is expected later in 2006.  The revision of  ISO 3183 Parts in has been in cooperation with the API Subcommittee 5, and with input from teh European "Gas Supply" industry and from Russian manufacturers, to create a "single set of words" for API 5L and ISO 3183, also replacing EN 10208 Parts.  Also to standardise High Strength Steels (X90, X100 and X120).

The responsibilities of the former TC67 Subcommittee 1 are transferred to TC67 Subcommittee 2 (SC2/WG16).  This brings together the line pipe product and the pipeline design and construction, under the same SC.

A Working Group SC2/WG16 has been established for line pipe, convened by Canada.  The Convenor is using Internet workspace provided by SCC (Standards Council of Canada).

The previously published Standards are:

ISO 3183-1 Pipes of Requirement Class A was developed in SC1 based on API 5L

ISO 3183-2 Pipes of Requirement Class B was developed in SC1 based on an early draft for EN 10208-2 developed by ECISS.

ISO 3183-3 Pipes of Requirement Class C was developed in SC1/WG1
